What is Drone Insurance?
Drone Insurance (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Insurance) covers any loss or damage caused to the drone, including theft while it is being operated by an authorized person. It also provides third-party liability protection that covers damages with respect to accidental bodily injury and accidental damage to property caused by the drone.
Drone insurance also provides accidental death benefit and covers hospitalization expenses of the operator for injuries caused by the drone while the same is being operated.

Who Needs Drone Insurance?
As per Drone Rules 2021, DGCA has Mandated Drone Insurance (Remotely Piloted Aircraft insurance) in India. It is, therefore, a legal requirement to obtain a commercial third-party liability Drone Insurance (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Insurance) policy if you are undertaking commercial operations.
